31 MARCH 2014 – The first night of the Guerilla Galleries show is entitled URBAN LIFE: Secrets will feature a live performance influenced by the adult entertainment industry. It also takes in an artists eye view from behind the curtains, windows and doors of society into a world we seldom see or parts of it we as individuals are reluctant to reveal.
A gallery spokesperson said: “There are only a handful of things individuals have and do in common away from prying eyes. There’s lots of stuff we keep to ourselves for one reason or another.
“We’re hoping to lift the lid on that and everything from the 10 minute preview to dressing-up.”
Among the many unique pieces featuring in this very different show is an installation by visual artist Danni (pictured above). She explores ‘the gaze’ and how audiences view things in a piece that draws upon instances and experiences from the adult entertainment industry. The artist who featured in s1 ep3 of the Channel 4 documentary Strippers will feature as part of the installation.
With the usual array of films, audio, paintings, sculptures and live performances the show scheduled for Wednesday 23rd April, proceedings will hopefully get off with a bang!
Entry to the show, hosted at the Daniel Libeskind Space in Islington, is FREE when booking via EventBrite.
