2013-07-15 14.45.38MORE THAN 30 of Europe’s leading new and emerging artists will descend on Islington’s Daniel Libeskind Space for a three-day showcase of contemporary art where according to organizers Guerilla Galleries “anything goes”.

Entitled Random Acts of Artistry 2: The Big Art Show, the exhibition will in addition to featuring 250 pieces of artwork will include an installation cum live performance piece exploring modern-day voyeurism, a fruit-powered orchestra and interactive digital art.
The Shoreditch-based art gallery offered invited artists total autonomy and creative freedom in a move expected to delivery an even more eclectic mix of work than normal and a few surprises.

A gallery spokesman said: “It’s very seldom that artists are given total creative freedom and not restricted by themes or mainstream gallery snobbery and attitudes.

“This is a unique opportunity for artists to put their best foot forward and as we won’t be censoring anyone we’re extremely pleased with what has come forward.”
In January 2013 the Guerillas presented its controversial 100% NUDE show, which presented 100 works of nude art alongside 100 nude visitors. ART & PROTEST, an exhibition that explored political art, followed that show in April. It featured five portraits of the late Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher days before her death.
The show opens on Wednesday 14th August with an exclusive Private View at the iconic stainless steel clad 10,000 sq. ft. Daniel Libeskind Space. Entry is free with Guerilla Galleries touting it as a three-day celebration of original contemporary art, which will include Street Art sitting alongside traditional fine art.

“We extremely excited about this latest show and the challenge of having our contents live up to the building’s impressive design. The building is well suited for contemporary art and we are happy to be here for a second summer in a row.”
