07 Nov 2013 – There’s no better birthday pressie than acknowledgement from an artist’s subject as artist Sarah Mayhew found out this week, when Russell Brand pitched-up to pose beside a Street Art homage to his own unique Brand.
Birmingham-based birthday girl Sarah – who is one of the latest artist to put paint to the boards of the Art Under The Hood project on Cremer Street project in Hoxton created the piece to pay tribute to Brand’s larger-than-life personality and honesty.
The work appeared a week before the DJ, actor and political activist went toe-to-toe with BBC Newsnight‘s Jeremy Paxman in an interview in which he called for ‘revolution’.
Mayhew told Guerilla Galleries London that she had nothing but respect for the outspoken personality based on his vocal support for ‘ordinary people’.
More of SLM‘s work will be show in London in the weeks ahead. Her Brand board can be viewed on the corner of Cremer Street & Hackney Road, Shoreditch.
